Suitable for: These ants are suitable for beginners with little to no experience.

 

Temperature and Humidity 

  • Nest 21- 25°C - Outworld 18- 28°C
  • Nest 50- 70% - Outworld 30- 60%


Hibernation

Yes from the end of November to the end of February at around 15°C. 

 

Diet

  • Water (at all times).
  • Carbohydrates like byFormica Sunburst Ant Nectar/ honey water or other.
  • Protein like fresh-killed insects or other.

 

Founding Queen and Ant colony size

  • Claustral (Without feeding Queen).
  • Monogyne (one Queen per colony)
  • Up to 10,000 workers per colony.

Description: Camponotus barbaricus are one of the largest species of ants in Europe. They are often found underneath decaying wood and especially enjoy nesting in soil. They are highly polymor
