Suitable For
This nest is suitable for small established colonies. The amount of workers it will fit comfortably depends on the species as Ant size ranges.
Tips
- You can also hydrate the Ytong block directly between the acrylic and it will soak it up- For those species who love humidity that extra bit more.
- If you're heating the nest for an exotic species, do not heat under the water reservoir as this will create excess condensation.
- For exotic species, it is recommended to heat the nest before moving the ants inside so you can monitor the temperatures within the nest and adjust it to their needs.
- For exotic species, be sure to provide a heat gradient so the ants can pick and choose where to sit.
- Try not to overhydrate. Do not fill up the water reservoir needlessly. Not much water is required to achieve a high humidity and it's easier to add water than remove. You can find the sweet spot for your colony over time and adjust based on their behavior.
