This species are invasive and are considered a pest in a lot of countries around the world. Under no circumstances should these ants ever be released. It is against the law to release non-native ants in the UK. That law is even more important when inbreeding comes into play. Please ensure your nest is 100% secure and suitable for micro species and you have good escape prevention. ONLY purchase these ants if you're prepared to look after them for a very long time and will be comfortable either euthanizing the colony or re-homing them if you no longer want to keep them. Please contact me if you need help re-homing.

Description: Brachymyrmex patagonicus are commonly known as the 'Dark Rover Ant'.  These ants are very unique and show some very interesting traits. These ants inbreed within the colony and are considered pests in many countries around the world. In the wild, these ants tend to nest pretty much anywhere. They're very adaptive to their environment and thrive in many different conditions. They like to nest near human activity to benefit from our artificial heat, food waste, and shelter. These ants are sugar crazy! A balanced diet is important but their love for sugary and sweet foods does not go unnoticed. This species are very good escape artists and due to their micro size, can easily fit through tiny gaps.
