Description: Myrmicaria natalensis are a hardy/resilient species that are located in the eastern and western parts of Africa. They're known as droptail ants due to how the queens like to sit on their gaster. Founding Queens lay large clutches of eggs in which half are consumed and the other half develop into worker ants. These ants will raise their gaster upwards when threatened and release a secretion of formic acid. This species of ant are known to form supercolonies in the wild which is why polygynous queens are available.
