Diet: Water (at all times). Carbohydrates- like honey water/ sugar water or other. Protein- like fresh-killed insects or other. Love hunting small live insects like Fruit Flies.


Colony form: Monogyne/ Average of 500 workers per colony.


Founding Queen: Semi-Claustral (with feeding)


Nest type: Acrylic, Y tong, Natural setup. Recommend giving the queen a small outworld to forage. Cannot walk up smooth surfaces well.
 

Sizes: Queen- 12 mm/ Worker- 10- 12mm


Bite/ Sting/ Formic acid: Yes, They have a painful sting.

 

Description: Odontoponera transversa is a very aggressive species and takes down prey by inflicting a painful sting that leaves the victim no chance, They do not show mercy. The Queens are semi-claustral and benefit from and outworld when founding. They're a smart species and unlike other species of ant, the workers tend to forage and hunt singularly.
